2023 Nobel Prize in Chemistry Awarded to Inventors of Quantum Dots

The 2023 Nobel Prize in chemistry has been awarded to the inventors of Quantum Dots, Moungi Bawendi, Louis Brus, and Alexi Ekimov.  This award is a recognition of the industrial importance of Quantum Dots in many applications and the expertise and inventiveness of the awardees.  Congratulations to all.

The commercial production of Quantum Dots is now well established.  Opportunities remain for the enhancement of the optical properties of  and development of new applications for both cadmium based and cadmium free fluorescent nanomaterials.  Nanooptical Materials actively pursues these opportunities.
