For applications where the toxicity of Cd based Quantum Dots (QDs) limits their use, NanoOptical Materials offers Cd Free Quantum Dots composed of CuInZnS cores surrounded by a shell of ZnS. These Cd Free QDs share the nearly ideal luminescent properties of other QDs because of their high brightness, strong optical absorbance over a wide excitation wavelength range, photostability and defined emission spectra. Compared to Cd based QDs, CuInZnS/ZnS have larger FWHM bandwidths (95 to 125 nm) and lower Quantum Yields (30% to 50%). These nanomaterials are finding a wide range of applications in a number of areas such as in vivo diagnostics, product packaging, and consumer products as weel as in applications where their wider bandwidths are an advantage.
High quality Cd Free CuInZnS/ZnS core/shell QDs are available over the wavelength range of 540 nm to 660 nm, starting at $195. Both organic soluble and water soluble forms may be purchased. Follow the links below to obtain more information and to order.
